Adam's Election Editorial
I really think that this election's result was unfair. In m y opinion, The Supreme Court clearly voted based on who they wanted for president, not whether it was fair or not. I am amazed and displeased that the US Supreme Court would overturn a decision by the Florida Supreme Court. The Florida Supreme Court has the final say in all elections taking place in that state. If George Bush really won the election, fine; but I believe that Vice President Al Gore got more than enough votes in Florida to capture the state's electoral vote total. In this just the third election where the losing candidate has won the popular vote, but lost the electoral vote, there has been much talk about abolishing the electoral college. The Electoral College is certainly outdated, but I do agree somewhat, that without the Electoral College, not every state would get fair representation, which is an issue. But, they should figure out how to do it some other way, because I still firmly agree that the person that receives the most votes should become the next president of the United States. I will try to stand behind George W. Bush when he takes the Oval Office over on January 20th, but I still will believe that he took the election unfairly from Al Gore.
