The Olympic Winter games are supposed to be about fierce competition and fairness. Jamie Sale and David Pelletier showed the competition, but got silver at the original medal ceremony. I was upset after that, because clearly they skated a better program than the Russians, who ended up with gold that night. Then the stories came out about how a French judge was urged by her country to give higher marks for the Russians even though they didn't do as well, and other things that showed that the judge's oath taken at the opening ceremony doesn't seem to mean much. Being 40% Canadian, maybe that makes a factor into what I say about the decision. But it was clear to everyone that Sale and Pelletier skated a much better program.
