The managing of Jimy "Gump" Williams has become good lately. It has shown that Trot Nixon can be a good everyday player. I have always believed that Trot Nixon can be a .300 hitter with 30 homers and 100 RBIs. Now see, when Jimy Williams has played him every day, he has performed to the absolute best of his ability.
Trot Nixon has always been considered as a prospect. People have been talking about trading him lately. I have always opposed that. I think the prospect of trading O'Leary is fine. Either way, we have too many outfielders on the team. Dante Bichette has to be the DH. Manny is gonna be in left, and Everett in center. Nixon in right. (when all are healthy). That leaves a question: Where is a place for the minor leaguer Izzy Alcantara, who is tearing up the minor leagues? Good question. Brian Daubach has been excellent defensively at first, so moving Izzy to first is out of the question. Izzy is an above-average right fielder.
The only solution to this problem is to get rid of someone. Nixon has been great in center. Leave Manny in left, and Izzy deserves to be in right. Where does Everett go? You know he'll cry and whine and stamp around like a baby if he doesn't get a spot on the team. But it seems like the team likes Everett in center. You have to literally part with O'Leary. What about Dante? He has settled into being a DH. Where does Izzy go? Can we try him at third or first? Does Trot Nixon deserve to be the #1 outfielder?
